Technological shifts changing supply chains in 2017

According to World Economic Forum, the future of this world is going to witness tremendous changes because of the high advances that will take place in technology. ‘’In 2025, 10% of the US population would be wearing clothes that are connected to the internet’’.
 
This impactful change in technology is going to change life as we know it all over the globe and of course it will have a major influence in the realms businesses including trading; where more than one section is affected like the industry array, freight forwarding, warehousing and inventory management, project cargos, packaging and assembly
 
These technological shifts are going to reshape it all when comes to warehousing and inventory management, freight forwarding, packaging and assembly along with project cargos:
 
1. Sharing economy: here we are talking about the concept of ‘’ubernization’’, just as people would share a ride with Uber cars the same is expected to happen when it comes to economy. Project cargos being part of the economy are surely going to be highly influenced, where new smart ways to maximizing the utilization of capital and assets in the supply chain such as reverse logistics and sourcing.
 
2. The Internet: business analysts warn that supply chain leaders will have to look for talents who understand sales in the industry array, packaging and assembly and warehousing and inventory management, operations planning and analytics in the different realms of the internet of things (IOT) including smart machines, automation and innovative industry array.
 
3. 3D manufacturing: in a while from now, 3D printing is going to be advanced in a way that people would be able to get their things in 3D forms without the need for someone to do the delivery for them which is going to highly affect project cargos, along with packaging and assembly.
 
4. Data and decisions: In five years, the whole population is expected to be amazingly internet connected which will allow better and faster decision-making, it will significantly impact warehousing and inventory management. The data generated from divisions of internal and external sources in many industries.  
 
5. Robotics: machines account for 80% in the present time, of the work in manufacturing a car. Soon, companies are going to start replacing their workers with robots which is going to save lots of expenses for the packaging and assembly along with project cargos and freight forwarding
